The Potential revenue streams from non-voice mobile entertainment applications
and services are huge, yet the issue of how to harness interactivity and build healthy
value-chains for this environment is a grey area. Content is king in some ways because it
encourages people to try content-related services in a specific buying manner. One of the
primary issues facing the mobile industry is lack of standard business models. During our
studies, as RETROMEDYA and TRENDTECH we aimed to provide mobile entertainment
services that are constantly refreshed and managed to build the optimum business model
for the execution of these services.
As a result of this positioning progress we relatively split the operation into our two
existing companies; TRENDTECH as the Technology Developer + Service Provider and
RETROMEDYA is the one responsible of Content Aggregation, Marketing and Project
Management of this Mobile Eco-system.
During our previous marketing analysis we were also concerned with how to benefit and
create new revenue streams from our potentials such as; our subscriber database,
content pool and the whole framework we built so far. As a result of this process, in the
following years RETRO-TREND has also focused to provide related services for Internet,
B2C merchandising, Mobile Marketing, aiming to become a Mobile Virtual Mobile Network
Operator, apply to get the VAS license from Telecommunication Authorities to work with
other operators as well and most important of all, market its existing applications and
services into other potential countries in its region with its reliable management knowhow
and infrastructure.
During the passed years weve gained an important experience and succeeded both in
reliability of our services and generated such revenue for the value chain as well as
building a healthy reference model into all other technology-entertainment focused
business targets.
By the increasing awareness of mobile subscribers into new technologies and positive
change in the penetration of non-voice revenues of mobile operators, RETRO-TREND has
finished its long-term strategic planning.
As a conclusion we might say that Mobile Entertainment is now a recognized, revenuegenerating
industry and we believe that we will benefit from an early positioning
advantage of our companies with their proven assets, professional human resources and
reliable infrastructure as a leader in Turkey, hopefully aiming to become the leader of its
region in near future as well
